AIB-NE is the regional chapter of the Academy of International Business. Our region stretches from Maine to Virginia along the Northeast coast of the United States. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for interaction and sharing of ideas to members in our region. One of our main venues for this purpose is our annual conference. AIBNE to Host Special Conference in China
The Academy of International Business- US Northeast Chapter, in collaboration with the Beijing Technology and Business University and Tianjin Foreign Studies University will be hosting a special conference on China. The conference will be held at Beijing and Tianjin from May 21 through May 24, 2014. The special conference will feature leading scholars on China from both China and the US. 2013 Annual AIBNE Symposium
The AIBNE organized its 2013 Annual Spring Symposium on Thursday April 18, 2013 at the Mancheski Seminar Room at Quinnipiac University, Hamden CT. This year’s symposium titled, “A Resurgent China in the 21st Century” focused on China and featured Dr. Jonathan Spence, a renowned scholar on China and the Sterling Prof Emeritus of History at Yale University, as the Key Note Speaker. There were two panel discussions featuring Dr. Jeremy Wallace of Yale University, Dr. Ming He from Beijing Technology and Business University, Dr. Frank Gao from Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Dr. Xiaohong He, Dr. Ben Liu, and Professor Prof. Tse-Shyang Chen from Quinnipiac University. Mr. Erik Kornqvist, the Director of the China Study Center (soon to be the Confucius Center at the Central Connecticut University) was the luncheon Speaker and talked about the soft power of Chinese culture. The program concluded with an address by eminent China scholar from Germany Professor Hermann Simon Ph.D., founder of Simon-Kucher. The event was open to public free of charge.
