Abstract

Despite the simplicity of operation, the conventional solid-state reaction (SSR) suffers from high energy consumption, poor homogeneity, and difficulty in controlling particle size. To overcome these weaknesses, a modified version of SSR has been conducted using water vapor assítant to accelerate SSR at low temperatures. The Bi2(MoO4)3 nanobars were synthesized using this vapor chamber-assisted SSR (VC), and the facile ball-milling was applied for Bi2(MoO4)3/C composite preparation. The obtained composite exhibits a superior electrochemical performance in the anode of lithium-ion batteries with a specific capacity of 883.4 mAh·g-1 at a current density of 500 mA·g-1 after 300 cycles. This is attributed to the one-dimensional morphology of the VC sample and the carbon matrix's high electron conductivity.
