Abstract

SARS CoV-2 infection-mediated “inflammation/cytokine Storm” is a major etiopathology associated with post-COVID pathologies. The cellular injuries/insults associated with the SARS CoV-2 infection can be reversible or irreversible leading to significant tissue and/or organ damage resulting in enhanced mortality. Vaccines are currently administered at regular intervals to reduce post-COVID pathologies. However, the effects of vaccine administration may not be sufficient to reduce post-COVID pathologies. Hence, innovative, pharmacologically potent, and cost-efficient prophylactic strategies and therapeutic approaches with minimal adverse drug effects and anaphylactic reactions are required for immunocompromised patients with post-COVID pathologies. In this scientific analysis, we will recommend various novel natural bioactives and synthetic drugs to prevent and treat post-COVID pathologies.
