Scientific and Non-Scientific Perspective Credence of Cannabis in the Indian Subcontinent
Abstract
The Indian Subcontinent represents a unique geographic entity (Indian Peninsula, the Himalayas, and the Indo-Gangetic Alluvial Plains) that is renowned for historical, ethical, and eco-sociological purposes. Traditionally, the countries in this subcontinent have endured to grow and benefit from Cannabis sativa. Numerous parts of Cannabis sativa (Flowers, leaves, fruit, young twigs, and stalk/stem) are commonly used for different purposes. Furthermore, several native curative healthcare practices exclusive to this subcontinent, such as the Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani, indicate their extensive prophylactic and therapeutic use. Intriguingly, the current study investigated the various current applications and uses of Cannabis.
