Abstract

The high toxicity issue of lead restrains photovoltaic field application of lead halideperovskite. The efficiency of perovskite solar cells(PSC s ) improved from 3.9% to 25.5% in just few years. Although it has reached 25.5%, lead(Pb)-based perovskite solar cells have two main concerns: high toxicity and poor stability. This review studies about low toxic perovskite materials which are environmental friendly with excellent optoelectronic properties and device performance. Also, ithis study reveals some promising lead free candidates with suitable band gap, optical andelectrical properties . The main focus of this review work is to understand the possible method to reduce toxicity due to lead and to improve pebased perovskite solar cells can be fabricated at a lower cost with reduced toxicity level. Therefore, development of lead-free perovskite materials are desirable to produce the next -generation PSC s .
