Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of COVID-19 therapeutics and biologicals on cardiovascular function.  Inappropriate medical treatment exacerbates cardiovascular pathologies and other comorbid conditions, increasing morbidity and mortality rates.  Therefore, a literature search with key terms, such as "COVID-19 drugs and Cardiovascular Function " and "COVID-19 vaccines and Cardiovascular Function," was performed using PubMed through July 2022.  The CDC data were referenced for the current COVID-19 profile and statistics.  The NIH COVID-19 guidelines were referenced for updated treatment recommendations.  Micromedex was used for drug and disease information.  The results obtained from the present study will confirm and validate the use of COVID-19 therapeutics and biologicals on patients suffering from various cardiovascular pathologies (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and cardiomyopathies).  This study will also identify drugs with iatrogenic properties for discontinue use to decrease morbidity and mortality significantly.  Therefore, personalized /customized patient care is required for cardiovascular disease patients with COVID-19 infection.
