Securing Smart Home using RSA Algorithm
Ijas Ahmed
Abstract

Rapid development in technology, industrial expansion, and living standards has resulted in a smart way of living. Internet of Things (IoT) connects all potential objects to interact with each other on the Internet. It has provided a comfortable life for humans. In this new era, indeed IoT has transformed value from sensor to business sense. The smart home is a significant part of IoT that exchanges data, sometimes sensitive data through the cloud platform. So, the security of the data exchange is very important and it must take into account as the most crucial part. In the past, more attention pays to data exchange without considering much about security. The vital purpose of this presentation is to study is to address the architecture of the smart home integrated with the most powerful security scheme to enable the secure smart home.

Cryptography contains the concept of encryption and decryption. The encryption encodes the message and decryption is decodes the message of the encoded message in the communication to provide secure communication. The research has implemented using the basic techniques of encryption to implement ensure the security part in the microcontrollers and user applications which is can be used in the smart home applications. We have used asymmetric encryption and a decryption scheme. There have are many various kinds of algorithms, but Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA) algorithm is a very powerful the most powerful algorithm used by modern computers to enable encryption and decryption. Therefore, the outcome of this study is a system for smart home security to create secure transmission between sensors to users and vice versa by making use of secure channel data transmission using the RSA algorithm.
