Fatemeh Heidari Gourji, Dhayalan Velauthapillai
Abstract

Despite the progressive enhancement and fulfilling efficiency of Pb-based perovskites for optoelectronic applications, regrettably, they are facing two main challenges of instability and toxicity. Therefore, new, stable perovskite materials are demanded to overcome these drawbacks. So far, scientists have worked on a wide variety of Pb-free perovskites with different molecular formulas and dimensionality. Among them, Pb-free halide double perovskite with the formula of A2M1+M3+X6 has been widely explored and worked by different research groups due to their higher stability and non/low toxicity. So far, Cs2AgBiBr6 double halide perovskites have shown high stability and promising photovoltaic efficiency up to 3.11%. There are two main synthetic methods for preparing this compound including solution-based process and solid-state method.  Through the different characterization techniques including SEM, TEM XRD, TGA, UV-vis spectroscopy, PL, TRPL etc., the structural and optoelectronic properties of Cs2AgBiBr6 has been approved. Herein, we present a brief review of carried-out research on Cs2AgBiBr6 double halide perovskites including experimental results and current photovoltaic applications.
